Leadership of a Private Equity-backed Company
Private Equity’s importance continues to surge, profoundly impacting businesses, careers, and economies at local and global levels.
PE employs 11.7 million people – nearly 3 million more than just two years ago.
There are more than 18,000 PE funds – a nearly 60% increase in the last five years.
PE currently has $4.4 trillion in assets under management, including $1.2 trillion of dry powder (uninvested capital.)
The industry has expanded its operating toolkit by building deep sector and functional expertise.
Tech-focused deals accounted for 50% of PE’s total activity by value, up from roughly a quarter in the first three months of 2022.
2022 remained the second most active year on record. The number of buyouts and growth deals over $500 million decreased by 33 per cent.
PE’s role in shaping the future of businesses is undeniable.
Meanwhile, PE firms offer lucrative career opportunities, attracting top talent with the promise of higher returns and a hands-on approach to business management.
As executive leaders across various industries, our understanding of how PE-backed companies are measured, managed, and governed and how they partner with suppliers is essential to business and career growth.
